Incident : Mother elephant and baby elephant were hit by a lorry and the baby elephant sustained serious injuries. The Baby elephant was kept in the kawdulla sanctury for treatment. Dr. Chandana Jayasinghe and Dr Dharmakeerthi with Their team took an immense effort to treat the baby elephant. Later it was transferred to athathurusewana for Further Treatment. The baby Elephant died there though it recieved treatment for about one week. in the autipsy it was revealed that the cause of the death was an internal damage of the organs due ti broken spine
